Our Programs
Adopt-A-Highway Program
Spring Valley Kiwanis is dedicated to keeping our community clean and beautiful through the Caltrans Adopt-A-Highway program. Every month, we organize a highway clean-up event on SR-94 where volunteers gather to pick up litter and maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding area.
Key Club at Monte Vista High School
Our organization sponsors the Key Club at Monte Vista High School, providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills through community service and outreach projects.
K Kids Club at Casa de Oro Elementary School
We sponsor the K Kids Club at Casa de Oro Elementary School, empowering young children to participate in service projects to improve their school and community.
Safety Officer Appreciation Dinner
We host an annual dinner in partnership with the Spring Valley Chamber of Commerce to honor the hard work and dedication of our local safety officers who serve and protect our community.
Volunteer at La Mesa Oktoberfest
We actively participate in the annual La Mesa Oktoberfest, encouraging our members to volunteer and contribute to the success of this community event. We provide volunteers for the Tarantino Sausage Booth and in exchange for our help, the Tarantino family makes a generous donation to our club's scholarship program.
Miracle Mile of Quarters
Every year, our club partners with other Kiwanis Clubs in San Diego County to raise funds for Rady Children's Hospital. We gather on a Saturday in October at Grossmont Center and create "quarter art" to raise awareness and have fun! The name "miracle mile of quarters" is attributed to the goal to collect enough quarters that when lined up would extend a mile long (the equivalent of 63,000 quarters, or $17,000). We are proud to say that we always surpass that goal!
